Our Interior Design process will walk you through every moving part, from floor plans and material selections to decor and furnishings, we are by your side every step of the way. We can also incorporate an organization plan to make sure the space not only looks beautiful, but functions well behind the scenes.
step one: intro call
Let's get to know one another! Our 15 minute meeting will allow time to introduce your project and for you to meet Sarah!
step Two: CONSULTATION
All Design projects begin with a working consultation. After submitting your design questionnaire, we will schedule a visual tour and initial measuring of your space, discuss your dreams for the design, review your current furnishings, get to know you and your lifestyle needs, and draft an initial Scope of Work and first budget.

Step three: Decor + DesigN
We create mood boards, color stories, detailed budgets, make furnishings and accessory selections, and 2D/3D design plans (based on project scope), and finalize the Scope of Work. Revisions and details are finalized in this step. Planning may take several weeks depending on scope of the project and is submitted for approval in steps.

step four: procurement
Estimated furnishings and finishes costs will be collected upfront and used to purchase your materials, furnishings, and accessories. Shipping, handling, and receiver costs are not included in item estimates and will be collected separately.
Home Theory sets a Project Management fee on the purchase price of all items to cover administration costs, order liability, vendor communication, client communication, order and shipment monitoring, managing design, and change orders.
Client will source and purchase all materials and furnishings directly from vendors, stores, and manufacturers with direction from the Design Plan.
Assistance available on an hourly basis for product and material questions, furnishings selections, shopping services, and on-site decorating.
step five: trades
NC law prevents us from hiring trades directly. We can offer our contact list, but can not guarantee the work of any particular contracted tradesperson. All payment must be made directly to each subcontractor. Insured installers, professional handymen, and/or movers are required for Installation Day. We have direct partnership with a Licensed General Contractor and a team of subcontractors available for remodeling projects.
Varies based on trades quotes. A Trades Management Fee is assessed hourly for trades related appointments and communication. Construction management plans are custom quoted.
step six: Design installation
After delivery of the furnishings to your home, we will be on-site to direct the finishing process with a team of installers. This may take anywhere from one to several days.
